Bicycling at the University of Oregon

The Department of Public Safety strongly encourages bicycling as a way of responsible transportation. One of the most important lessons learned at the university is the value of our surrounding environment. The health of a community is a result of its accumulative actions, and bicycling is a means of promoting both personal and community health.

With Oregon weather, bicycling in winter months can be discouraging and challenging for students that may not have the proper riding gear.  You'll find information in these pages about the availability of covered parking, safety recommendations, and a listing of local shops where you may purchase adequate gear for the conditions.
