SUBJECT: Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics
Thank you for your interest in coming to work or study at the University of Oregon.
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, commonly known as the Jeanne Clery Act, the university makes crime statistics in and around the campus community available to the general public.
A daily record of activity is kept at the Department of Public Safety, and is also made available to the Oregon Daily Emerald and other media entities. Annual crime statistics for the previous three-year period are available in the campus Public Safety brochure, “Committed to Your Safety,” available at the Department of Public Safety office, located in Straub Hall at 1319 East 15th Avenue, Eugene, OR 97403.
This brochure also contains policy information regarding crime reporting, the university policy on drugs and alcohol, various prevention and education programs available, and the university’s policy on timely warnings of criminal activity in compliance with the Clery Act.
The Department of Public Safety also makes available contact information for the Oregon State Police sex offender registration program, in compliance with the Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act. This sex offender registration program identifies registered sex offenders living in the geographic area of the university.
