Eugene Police Department
The
University and the Eugene
Police Department (EPD) have developed a mutual
cooperative relationship to enhance the safety of the
university neighborhood by improving the
professionalism of the UO, Department of Public Safety
(DPS) and community policing efforts in the area.
The University contracts EPD officers to be on or
near campus around the clock. A small contingency
of EPD officers are assigned campus detail and utilize
office space within the DPS office, located centrally
on campus in Straub Hall.
The Eugene Police Department also supports a
community public safety station located on the West
side of campus, at the corner of 13th Avenue and Alder
Street. The West University Public Safety Station
is mostly staffed by volunteers, on-call police
officers and a full-time station manager. The
station is open Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00
PM. Visitors are welcome to stop in or call (541)
682-8350 for further information.
