Safety Services
& Policing

At the University of Oregon, the safety and well being of our students, faculty, and staff is a primary concern of the Department of Public Safety.

The Department of Public Safety works with student support offices such as the Office of Student Life, Office of University Housing, Student Health Center, and University Counseling Center, and with student leaders in the Associated Students of the University of Oregon, to promote a safe, secure campus community through education, prevention and enforcement services and programs.

In support of this purpose, the Department of Public Safety provides timely and courteous service in the areas of public safety, building security, emergency response, information, instruction and training, prevention and investigation of crimes, parking administration and enforcement, and building access control.

However, we can only achieve a truly safe environment through the cooperation, help, and support of the students, faculty, and staff at the University.

The Department of Public Safety's general office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
